Value of Wholegrain Rice in a Healthy Human Nutrition

Rice is one of the most widely consumed cereals in world. The husks harvested, unprocessed rice are not digested by humans and need to be removed obtain edible grains, whereas bran can partially (brown rice) or totally (white rice). Brown a wholegrain cereal and, as such, known have beneficial effects on human health. Recent epidemiological studies shown that consumption whole grains reduce risk metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, some types cancer. However, white preferred for reasons connected appearance, taste, palatability, ease cooking, tradition, safety, shelf-life, lack awareness about its benefits availability. In this review, latest scientific reports regarding nutritional composition brown evolution technology production will briefly reviewed together with research implications also relation cancer development humans. A specific chapter devoted pigmented which, thanks composition, has attracted growing interest consumers worldwide. further help promote discussed.
